Insure Our Future

Where: outside Manchester Central (formerly G-Mex)
What: a family-friendly day of action outside the annual British Insurance Broker’s Association conference, calling on the delegates NOT to insure fossil fuel projects.
The Stop EACOP Coalition, supported by XR and other organizations, will be calling on insurance companies to withhold insurance from the East African Oil Pipeline and other new oil and gas projects. This will be a Family Friendly, good-humoured event. Come when you can, for as long or short a time as you can, with or without an appropriate banner. Without insurance, these projects cannot continue, and insurance companies are beginning to have serious doubts about this type of business, and to pull out of new fossil fuel projects. This is an opportunity to up the pressure.
